St Catherine’s Lighthouse Holiday Cottages, Isle of Wight

The two lighthouse towers are known as the Cow and the Calf. Attached to the east is the Head Lighthouse keeper’s house of 1 storey with curved front and round headed window facing east. This lighthouse was one of the first in the world to be illuminated by electric light being fitted with it in 1888.

St Catherine’s Lighthouse is situated just outside the hamlet of Niton, approximately 10 minutes’ drive from the popular coastal resort of Ventnor – the southernmost point of the Isle of Wight. The site comprises a terrace of 3 holiday cottages Gurnard, Landward and Penda.

Trinity House has their rental agency handling the holiday rentals of these former lighthouse keepers’ dwellings. Located about 15 minutes drive from the popular Isle of Wight resort of Ventnor. There are guided tours of St Catherine’s Lighthouse Tower (subject to availability). The Lighthouse grounds are enclosed with a wall but young children should be supervised at all times. Each cottage has a private enclosed courtyard and parking area. Beyond the courtyard there is a communal grass area where children could play. Guests can unload in the parking area adjacent to Penda Cottage.
