As of 16th July 2013 the Northern Lighthouse Board [NLB] have advised BBC Radio Orkney that Start Point Lighthouse Tower is NOT for sale.

This is most probably correct. However there have been mixed messages in the past. Understandable as the NLB have a huge portfolio to take care of. In all probability the TOWER at Start Point may not come up for sale – though we think there is a slight possibility it will. What is for sure is that there WILL be lighthouse buildings of some description at Start Point coming up for sale.

Notwithstanding Start Point…
